Terms of Service
Last updated 5 August 2026
1. Who we are
Acme is a website monitoring service operated by {{COMPANY LEGAL NAME}}, registered at {{REGISTERED ADDRESS}} ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms.
2. What the service does
We periodically send requests to addresses you specify and notify you when the response changes in a way you asked to be told about. We also read publicly available registration and certificate data for domains you monitor.
We are a notification service, not a guarantee of availability. We do not fix, host or operate your sites, and we cannot prevent an outage - only tell you about one.
3. Your account
- You must provide a working email address and confirm it. Monitoring does not start until you do.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything done by people you share access with.
- One person or organisation per account. You may monitor sites belonging to your clients.
- Accounts that never confirm their email address are deleted after 14 days.
4. Acceptable use
You may monitor any address you own, operate, or have permission to monitor. You may not use the service to:
- generate load against a third party, benchmark, stress-test or otherwise burden a site you do not control;
- probe, scan or map infrastructure you have no relationship with;
- circumvent access controls, rate limits or bot protection;
- monitor addresses on private, internal or reserved networks (we block these automatically);
- resell raw monitoring capacity as if it were your own infrastructure.
We limit how often we contact any single address across all accounts. If you believe our checks are causing you a problem, write to legal@acmepulse.com and we will act the same day.
5. Plans, billing and cancellation
- The free plan is free indefinitely and may be used commercially, including for client work.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for.
- When a plan ends, nothing is deleted. Monitors above the free limit are paused and can be resumed at any time.
- If a payment fails we keep your monitors running for 7 days while we retry.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
6. Availability
We work hard to keep the service running, but we do not offer a service level agreement on free or entry plans. We may pause checks for maintenance, and we may change check frequencies to protect the platform.
Notifications depend on networks and providers outside our control - email delivery, Telegram, Slack, your phone. We cannot guarantee that a specific alert arrives, which is why we support several channels at once.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Acme is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost revenue, lost data or business interruption arising from a missed or delayed notification.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks the acceptable use rules, that we are legally required to close, or that repeatedly fails payment. Where the situation allows it we contact you first.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your monitors, history, incidents and status pages, and cannot be undone.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces what you get, we tell you by email at least 30 days in advance and you may cancel for a pro-rata refund of any unused prepaid period.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of {{JURISDICTION}}.
